New Feeding Program Launched at Ilugin Elementary School
Published on July 15, 2025
Feeding Futures PH has initiated a new daily feeding program at Ilugin Elementary School in Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City. The program, a formal partnership with the school, aims to address significant nutritional challenges within the community.
Data from the area indicates many children are 25-30% underweight, with some cases of stunting. The program's objective is to improve the nutritional status of student beneficiaries through daily, complete meals.
A trial run was conducted on July 14, 2025, ahead of the official launch. During the trial, it was observed that some children were unaccustomed to receiving a meal with multiple components—meat, vegetables, rice, and fruit—served together.

Volunteers and school staff, led by team leaders Tricia and Coey, served balanced meals on compartmentalized trays. The first meal included pork steak with onions, sautéed green beans, carrots, and potatoes.

The program provides students with the nutrition necessary to support their growth and academic focus.

This vital work is made possible through the strong community partnership with the leadership and staff at Ilugin Elementary School, who have formalized the collaboration to nourish their 60 student beneficiaries.
