More Than a Meal: A Story of Hope from Our First Feeding Day in Pasig City

Published on July 15, 2025

Yesterday, during the first dry run of our new feeding program at Ilugin Elementary School in Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City, a mother approached our team. She explained that her young daughter was overwhelmed, almost to the point of tears.

The reason? She does not often see a complete meal. Not like this. A plate with meat, vegetables, rice, and a piece of fruit, all at once.

This single moment is why Feeding Futures PH exists.

This week, we began our partnership with Ilugin Elementary School to launch a new daily feeding program, which will officially begin this Wednesday. The photos from our trial run yesterday tell the story better than any words could.

It's a story that begins with a harsh reality. In this community, many children are 25-30% underweight, stunted, or even severely stunted. Our mission is to change that, one plate at a time. It starts with nutritious, lovingly prepared food.

Our incredible team, led by the amazing Tricia and Coey, worked with school staff to serve these beautiful, balanced meals on compartmentalized trays—a dignified and complete dining experience for each child.

And then, the best part of the day. The children. For these students, this isn't just food. It’s a chance to grow, to focus in class, and to feel the love and support of their community. Their smiles say everything.

This vital work is made possible through strong community partnerships. We are profoundly grateful to the leadership and staff at Ilugin Elementary School for formalizing our collaboration and sharing our vision to nourish their 60 beneficiary students.

A Message That Moved Us

"First day of the dry run of the Feeding program. We will officially begin on Wednesday. Tricia and Coey are just the best team in the world... The kids are 25-30% underweight, stunted or severely stunted... A girl was overwhelmed and the mom explained to us that it was because she never had seen a complete meal (meat, vegetables, rice, fruit). I really hope and pray that we can get many children out of this situation."

We share that hope and that prayer. And with your help, we can turn that hope into a reality.
